Is It Night or Day?

I have recently finished reading the book, IS IT NIGHT OF DAY? by Fern Schumer Chapman. It is a great novel about a girl who was Jewish. She was about 12 years old when Hitler started to gain power in Germany, and her parents sent her to America. This book is about her life in America. Fortunately for Edith, the main character, her uncle and his family have agreed to take her in. Also, her sister, who was sent to America earlier, lives in the same city, Chicago. But America isn’t heaven either. Her parents are still stuck in Germany. Edith is also being made fun of because of her race and her accent. Reading this book is going to make you step back and think about all the things you might take for granted. I recommend IS IT NIGHT OR DAY? to anyone who is looking for a good historical fiction book. Review by: Erika
